- Do I have to be present at the awards ceremony?
No. We encourage all nominees to participate in the conference which will be held on Saturday, April 27th at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta. Click Here to Register »
- Are my spouse, colleagues, family and/or friends invited to attend the award ceremony without charge?
No. The TiECON Southeast conference and awards ceremony are part of TiE Atlanta which is a non-profit organization. The conference begins on Saturday with an incredible line up of speakers followed by the awards ceremony. We encourage you to invite additional attendees and have them Register Here ».
- Am I able to purchase tickets and/or table just for the awards portion of the conference?
Regretfully, we are not able to offer this option, yet do hope you will join us for the full conference.
- Can I nominate myself?
Yes. Whether you are nominated by someone else or nominate yourself, it is all the same. ANYONE can nominate someone for the awards.
- Is it to my advantage to have someone I view as important nominate me?
No. No special recognition is given, nor are additional points awarded, based on who nominates you. The award is given strictly on merit!
- If my company sponsors TiE or the awards, may we have a seat on the judging panel?
No. The judges have no personal or business interest in selecting one nominee over another.
- How do you select the candidates? We have selected a visible, influential panel of judges. The TiECON Southeast judges do this as a service to their community. Neither individual judges, nor their companies have paid for this privilege. Additionally, we require our judges to disclose any affiliation they have with any particular nominee. Should a judge have an affiliation with a nominee, that nominee application is assigned to another judge.
- Do the TiE presidents, award chair, charter members, or employees have the ability to judge and/or influence the outcome of those selected as the finalists and recipients?
No. It is the sole responsibility of the judges to select who is the best candidate in each category.
- Do I have to be a member of TiE to be nominated?
No. We are inclusive of all races, genders, organizations and industries. Of course, we encourage you to Become a Member » of your local TiE chapter!
- Is there a fee associated with being nominated for the awards? No.
- Can TiE Presidents, TiECON Southeast Awards Chair, TiE Board of Directors, Charter Members, Local TiE Sponsors and/or TiE employees be nominees?
No. We encourage all those listed above to nominate candidates. The TiECON Southeast affiliates pride themselves on reaching out to the community at large.
- Can TiE members and volunteers be nominees for the award?
Absolutely!
- Do I have to be headquartered in Atlanta to participate?
No. We do require that participating companies be headquartered, or have offices, in Georgia, Florida, North Carolina or South Carolina.
- If I was a previous nominee, yet was not selected as the recipient, may I apply again?
Yes.
- Will the finalist know in advance if they are selected?
No.
- I was a previous recipient in another category; may I apply in a new category?
Yes.
- I was the actual winner last year; may I apply again to the same category?
If you are the actual winner of a previous TiE (annual conference) Award, we require a three year waiting period before you apply again in the same category. This encourages a wider pool of candidates.
