Richard "Rick" Cope is a serial entrepreneur who has raised over 100 million dollars in investment capital. He has held the positions of CEO, President, CTO, COO, Combat Commander, Venture Capitalist, Investor and Fundraiser. He is also the inventor on more than 20 filed patents and numerous trademarks.
Cope is the Founder and CEO of NanoLumens, Inc. a company which is revolutionizing the world of digital media with their low cost and energy efficient line of digital display solutions. They engineer and design ultra-slim, lightweight and flexible large format digital displays in virtually any shape or size. Customers include: high-end retailers, entertainment facilities, stadiums, transit stations, and commercial designers. NanoLumens has received many awards including the Termans Award in Breakthrough Technology by TechAmerica, and was a finalist in the Wall Street Journal's Worldwide Innovation Award.
He is the founder and General Partner of Atlanta Technology Advisors. Previously, he held senior executive positions at Enrev Corporation, H Power Corp., U.S. Electricar and The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency. Cope is a retired USMC officer that held numerous military positions including: Special Ops advisor to Gen. Schwarzkopf, Squadron Operations Officer and was named Chief of the Army Air Defense School.
Cope has been quoted extensively in three books as well as articles in Newsweek, NY Times, LA Times, Time and frequently interviewed in media outlets, most recently on Fox Business News. Cope hold seats on several for-profit and non-profit boards and is an avid contributor in the area of micro-lending in underdeveloped countries in partnership with Opportunity International.
Cope graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Criminology from Trenton State College. He is a graduate of the Joint Service College, Defense Systems Management College, and Advance Communications School.
