The Award Categories Are:

2013 Student Entrepreneur

A special award to recognize and motivate Students who have shown entrepreneurial vision. The nominated person should have been a student during the 2011/2012 academic years.

2013 Up-and-Coming Entrepreneur

An up-and-coming founder of a high growth company who has demonstrated great potential and the characteristics of highly successful entrepreneurs. A rising star for all to watch.

2013 Corporate Intrapreneur

A person within a large corporation who takes responsibility for turning an idea into a finished product, service or solution through risk-taking and innovation.

2013 Deal of the Year

An extraordinary liquidity or financing transaction of a business founded by an Atlanta-area entrepreneur. The award is given to an entrepreneur who has founded and developed a company with excellence in industry innovation, management, and financial accomplishment.

2013 Entrepreneur

An entrepreneur who has accomplished extraordinary success and has demonstrated high commitment to the entrepreneurial community. An individual who is truly "Living the Dream and Giving it Back."

2013 Angel Investor

This award will recognize an exceptional Angel Investor with documented investments in 2012. The Angel of the Year has a history of companies that have successfully raised an A round and/or that are profitable. Mentorship provided to the start-up company at large shall be considered. Overall number of investments and the size of investments will be considered.

2013 Venture Capitalist

This award will recognize an extraordinary corporate formed VC with an active fund. The VC does not need to be based in the TiECON SE region, however, total deployed capital in TiECON SE region in 2012 will be considered. The VC of the Year has an industry focus and a history of companies receiving additional funding rounds and/or that are profitable. The VC must have experience being an entrepreneur (not just an investment banking background).
